Just trying to sketch some and play with the tablet for cockeyed_art. I've been slacking a lot lately, and as I really do want to get better at art I'm going to try and change that. I still can't seem to commit to a sketch for longer than 20min but at least it's getting me drawing, so I'll see just how many "sketches" I can get through tonight just for fun. Even a dumb sketch like this helps me get used to the tablet, so, yeah.

The first one was really just a warm-up doodle but I actually thought it was kind of cute.

I couldn't get any colors to work on the second one, but eh, I included it here along with the really simple first sketch. I realized too late that I made her too "sexy" aka skinny in the second sketch. A real ass-kicker with a sword probably wouldn't have that willowy waist. I was really too into drawing those sweet crossing ribbon things to notice the slender waist until I'd already played with it a bit.

What I'm really trying to do with sketches is make them feel like the crap I draw in the margins of my papers in class. I haven't yet gotten the smoothness or the opacity of the tablet to match my actual pen-in-hand feeling yet. Oh well, better keep on practicing, right?
