Guys, the stuff FFEX produces is pretty amazing, I will not lie. This is just from the most recent round; I have an entire second post I plan to share, not even touching FFEX 2007. I could be reading for years. You're all awesome.

ff_press: 4 Art Recs (FFIV, FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII) and 7 Fic Recs (FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII, FFX2, FFXII).

ART

On The Run (FFVIII; Zell, Selphie, Irvine; PG-13 -- WHO DIDN'T LOVE THIS. Fancomic, and if I could pay for more, I would.

Sunset (FFVIII, Quistis, SFW) -- I realize that this was just posted but you all know I am a massive Quistis fan and I drooled over this for probably longer than it is healthy.

Triangle (FFIV; Kain/Edge/Rydia; SFW) -- anyone else who loves this threesome as much as I do might actually explode.

Villain Sleepover (FFIV, FFVI, FFVII; Villains; G) -- BASICALLY. YES. THIS IS WHY I LOVE HER.

FIC

Back and Forth (FFVI; Celes, Kefka; PG) -- This was a really interesting, awesome depiction of what could be - and is - a most twisted relationship. I loved what was done with both Kefka and Celes here.

Checkmate (FFXII; Gabranth/Ffamran; NC-17) -- I love the way the chess game works with this (it's FFXII, man!), the Judges are all hot, and who doesn't love angry-hate-sex. The very last section (king) is what does it for me.

Demotion (FFVIII; Quistis, Cid) -- This I loved as an in-between, a depiction of a scene much missing from the game, and it tells you almost as much in what it doesn't say as in what it does.

Pale Horses (FFVII; Tifa; PG-13) -- Even I forget that FFVII was my first real online fandom (FFIV and FFVI were before the Tiem of Internets). This embodied everything I love about FFVII and everything I wish there was more of in the fandom I see now.

Persistence of Memory (FFX2; Paine/Nooj, Baralai/Gippal; G) -- I know that X-2 isn't a fandom I spend a lot of time in, but my brain still returns to the amazing glassworking meta in this piece when it's bored: I loved every ounce of this. It's an awesome look at all of the characters, and also, DID I MENTION THE PYREFLY/SPHERE/GLASSWORKING META I want to explode.

Political Considerations (FFXII; Ashe/Balthier, Penelo; PG-13) -- This is the perfect balance between Ashe and Balthier. I love the way it deals with finicky politics AND issues of the heart all at once -- what's more FFXII?

These Unending Alchemies of Honour (FFXII; Vaan/Gabranth + cast; PG-13) -- How can I NOT rec this? The fic that has spawned the most amazing crackpairing I've ever been a part of, the fic that makes me write the most unedited ficbits of all time, one of the most awesome things I've ever been honored to watch unfold. Yup. Read it. It's long. It's worth it.
